Nigel has been involved in catering since the tender age of 11 years old. Working in his parents Fish and Chip shop in Llanberis, North Wales and learning the trade, Nigel progressed and eventually managed the business prior to and after his family sold the business. After teaching the new owners the trade he decided to move on. Nigel decided to further his cooking skills by training in an established restaurant where he learned to cook both French and English cuisine.
The opportunity to run a restaurant in Canada saw Nigel take the plunge and relocate to Canada where he ran a successful restaurant in the cosmopolitan country that is Canada. The ability to use his acquired knowledge in French cuisine along with solid, English food knowledge enabled his restaurant to develop and grow into a success story in its own right. After becoming
disillusioned with food for a period of time Nigel decided to explore other careers and returned to England. The love and lure of cooking soon returned which saw Nigel back in the trade, this time with a view of moving into the mobile catering business, catering for many events from twenty to thirty people up to and including as many as six hundred.
December 2009 saw Nigel become Fort Airgun club’s official caterer offering a good range of food at very good prices, Nigel and his family have catered for our members and our differing requirements with ease and also aware of the need for a varied range of taste through the seasons. Nigel isn’t interested in low quality food, badly prepared in dirty conditions, with the motto ‘If it isn’t good enough for me and my family, it isn’t good enough for my customers’.
Nigel continues to do Fort proud. Recently Nigel has added other HFT events and venues to his own menu including Quarry for the Welsh Open and Springer series along with Rivington Riflemen’s Charity Shoot.
